Yes, I’ve been camping and it’s wonderful! I’ve done myriads of different formats, but in reality I need a little bit of luxury to enjoy the outside world with no walls. I couldn’t permanently live in a tent. Being a Berber woman would not be my idea of fun.

I ,though, get an itch when in hotels, I feel surrounded by alien activities never mind alien people. Why is it all so formal? Do the staff like working here. When will they repair the wonky sign on the women’s toilet door near the cocktail bar. How early is early breakfast?

And Air B’B’s, not for me I’m afraid. No me and my dog would not enjoy that prospect.

So camping, or in our case caravanning is the perfect outlet for surrounda-air and nature. Cooker , Fridge, Sofa and a duvet and mattress bed. Natural air conditioning and not too worry some insect life. Roll on next time!

There is no time like the present,

Sometimes this World seems Heaven sent,

I’m not religious but that doesn’t matter,

Yes some would serve my head on a platter,

We all get by doing what we do,

As Dylan and Harrison wrote “If not for you”,

It sometimes works more often not,

The World sometimes seems a gigantic bot,

Never let it get you down,

So what if you wear a permanent frown,

What people think matters not,

As I say modern life is subject to the Internet bot,

But face to face and palm to palm,

That’s when you see who I really am.

I forget to use them and people are offended 😣,

My objective being seriously upended,

I didn’t realise my character would be judged,

Until one day the keyboard I accidently nudged,

My finger hit the wrong key you see,

And I sent an aubergine to my Auntie Bee🍆 ,

Apparently she is up on the lingo,

And took offence and banned me from the bingo ,

It was with ire she boldy wrote,

Her character was seriously smote🙄 ,

Ten Hail Mary’s I must say,

And I must give my phone away!

Too end the story on a positive note,

She forgave me after a short while,

So I wryly sent her an emoji smile 😊.

In truth I miss a good conversation,

Most situations require my silence and meditation,

No one really cares about my point of view,

They find it neither enlightening or new,

Even the telly doesn’t really care,

It just wants me to watch and stare,

My husband listens and then turns off,

I know he’s bored with that special cough,

After a glass of wine or two,

We’ll talk and talk until it’s morning,

But we’ve forgotten what we’ve said by the day is dawning,

It’s sad because I learn by listening,

A conversation spattered with facts that are glistening,

Sometimes I just need to ask why?

But very often I let the moment go by,

Am I stupid or just not worth the time?

Brother I want your interest not your dime,

Elvis was wrong! We need more conversation ,

To understand each other and be a Nation,

We need to talk about everything and listen carefully,

No topics off limit if we are to be care free.

Yesterday I took a risk,

And wrote a ditty under the pseudonym Letitia Fisk,

I thought I was being extremely clever,

But now I’m in the mire forever,

It seems she’s a teacher in Monterey,

And commented sagely ” I Wouldn’t give this an A!”.

I made a bet with a friend I know,

How many spots were on that cow,

The spots belonged to a pregnant sow,

So with much aplomb I took a bow,

His confusion was clearly plain to see

So I won on a technicality.

You’ve Made Your Bed!

You have to lie in it,

Sadly, the Electric Blanket,

The wiring was amiss,

And last night was our final goodnight kiss.

The Things that make me nervous are many,

Let’s face it Vesuvius did it for Pliny,

I mean how fragile is Peace?

All it takes is a pop at Trump’s niece,

Family is family after all,

So OK, her dress looked awful at the ball,

After all that effort and making plans,

She insisted on wearing those old Vans,

I’m going a bit off track,

To my title I must get back,

What really makes me nervous and even howl,

Is the prospect of losing my favourite trowel,

For a gardener’s tools are precious to them,

And to go astray amongst the weeds,

Certainly ranks with horrible deeds,

I don’t need to worry about thiefs or vagabonds,

Just stinging nettles and metre wide fronds,

And so with honesty I must say,

It happens regularly and ruins my day.

When days are demanding and I have to unwind,

I very often reach for an orange to unrind,

The process of peeling,

Somehow gets rid of that feeling,

Of dissatisfaction from the daily grind,

A simple pleasure,

At the end a treasure,

A globe of juiciness,

A Goddess of Fruitiness,

Sweetness and Firmness all combined,

In the moist package enclosed in that rind,

I’ve got my Vitamin C ,

No need for supplements or herbal tea,

A boost to face another day,

That juicy orange is my little sunshine ray.

I use it and I try not to let it use me.
