Not a Proud Culture Vulture

What aspects of your cultural heritage are you most proud of or interested in?

I am not proud,it’s not in my cultural background to have pride.Indeed pride,if not the actual sin of vanity ,negates my view that the best thing about my cultural background is indeed my ingrained belief in multiculturalism.

That’s not to say that my background ,environmental influences and genetics have not given me many interesting and valuable traits that inherently define me. Nothing wrong with that.

The most valuable trait is however the ability to accept and understand all the other cultures that exist and to respect them and in turn to gain the respect of other cultures by being respectful of their beliefs.

That is ingrained in me and makes me strong not weak. A vulture will pick at carrion for its’ survival, but carrion is dead.Culture is alive and kicking ;we should embrace it and respect it for what it is Culture.

James Joyce would not have been a fan of WordPress

Can you imagine Joyce trying to write a sentence in WordPress. He’d have thrown his computer across the room.

The rhythm of language he devised  would be ruined by the orange and blue lines and corrections indicating the errors in grammar or spelling.

If he’d have turned on the AI corrections for a laugh he would have been rolling around the floor in hysterics at the ridiculousness of the suggestions.

“Too many words!” It would say….

Advice

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

What is the difference between paid for advice and free advice and which one is best?

We are  a world where advice through multiple channels is available from what seasonal  plants to grow in your garden,to how to build a safe submarine,or indeed who to vote for.

Advice can be listened to or ignored, we have a choice ;I hope.Or are the advice algorithms eliminating that choice?

Let’s face it every loud mouthed nincompoop wants you to listen to them.

So ,with the current situation,I still go back to the best advice I was ever given which has come in handy multiple times throughout my life and that was to memorise my N.I. number.

Don’t Click On The Link

Whatever you do,never click on a link embedded in a comment or one that appears unfamiliar and is not from a known source.

I am puzzled as to what WordPress have put in place to stop this intrusion.Perhaps someone could let me know.

In the meantime my motto is.

“Don’t Click On The Link”

Bananas

What things give you energy?

I can really recommend bananas for energy. An amazingly well packaged fruit, with a delicious sweetness when ripe and a great capacity for storage through transportation from far off places, the closest to us being the Canary Islands just off the coast of Spain.

Bananas!

Misinformation

Which topics would you like to be more informed about?

I would like to be informed about misinformation.

In reality  I would like a divining rod which would flip irritably when it comes across any form of misinformation.

Turtles know about these things.
