I suppose we shouldn’t berate an 84 year old Knight of the Realm and founder of a very successful taxi-cab firm for imagining that  his love of all things Irish  and being  besotted with the Irish Republic that he was in fact entitled to be treated as a  Non-Domicillary  and hence avoid a £20 million tax bill from HMRC.Nice try, maybe Creative Domiciling should be added to the infamous Creative Accounting.

The man in question Sir John Griffin has lived in the UK since he was nine years old.Being born in England of Irish parents

HMRC has  won it’s case ,Sir John has lived and brought up his family in the UK that he will have to pay the tax on his income from foreign investments since 2013.

Beats me how people don’t understand that public services that they use have to be financed by the rich as well as the poor.

I applaud Bianca Jagger for saying what we all think,that our High Streets all over the Country are being ruined by businesses that do more harm than good

In this case a “Gambling Amusement Arcade” increasing  it’s size and frontage by moving to a more prominent site outside Earls Court Tube Station.

Bianca is standing with her fellow  residents  as a mother,grandmother and a serious human rights defender.

This gambling situation is like giving a child lighted  matches and wondering what will happen.  There are many schools with children who use the tube station and there is no doubt it’s putting temptation in their way.

Perhaps it needs a high profile Celebrity to bring the inappropriateness of this site to everyone’s attention and hopefully encourage others to stand up against the deterioration of quality choices on our High Street and Local Shops.

The ‘S’ sticker is not mandatory and their  introduction many years ago was  to aid drivers in France who reach a certain age and still want to drive,but want to highlight that they are an older driver.

The ‘S’ stands for senior and underneath in smaller writing it might say”Votre ainé au volant”(Senior Citizen at the Wheel).

Those who disagree with the sticker feel it stigmatises ‘older drivers’,however there are no plans to make it the Law to use them.

France does not have a  mandatory medical test  (which the EU wanted to introduce but was rejected by the majority of  MEP’s)

In the UK for a car driver over 70 ,their  licence has to be  renewed every three years and their fitness to drive made by  self-declaration.Other classes of vehicles have stricter rules.

So the ‘S’ sticker is a matter of personal choice and  insurance company  accident statistics show that drivers under 35 are the cause of more fatal accidents on French Roads.

The crux of this headline is that it raises up the ghost of the  bogey man of the fundamentalist, extreme Muslim who fights against Global Powers and is now part of history just as much  Christian Extremism has become history. Gone but not forgotten.

The Muslim Cleric involved in this debacle made his comments many years ago.

In recent years he has helped a Christian girl in Pakistan when she fell foul of the  Blasphemy Laws in her native Country.

Hence it was deemed appropriate that he be given an award for promoting ‘interfaith harmony’. Seems valid.

The award was given in good faith and it has done more harm than good, withdrawing it because of his  historical comments

.The man had acted to protect a Christian girl,perhaps he would do more of this in the future ,perhaps not,now we will never know.

There was a saying when I was young ,

“Give a thing,and take it back,God will say What happened to that?”

Perhaps the Archbishop of Canterbury may have God asking the same question.

Perhaps we really do have to acknowledge that these two “Great Charities” have been subject to online  abuse and public demonstrations  by what only can be classed as idiots,who really don’t care about  facts or evidence and who short circuited their brains into thinking the B in RNIB stood for Boats and not Blind.

As a result, the RNIB were threatened with money not  being donated until they stopped bringing illegal immigrants into our Country”.

Not only that but the poor Marriot Hotel in Portsmouth had an illegal immigrant demonstration outside it as the hotel was hosting a cricket team from Pakistan. The demonstrators embarrassed everyone including themselves by shouting at the players as they arrived in their buses.

More seriously, volunteers for the RNLI have had their names and addresses published online in order to harass them This is an illegal activity related to Social Media and will be investigated by the Police.

All in all, I suppose unlike journalists who should   fact check and report on reality, these loudmouths just target and shout abuse not really understanding what the real issues are.
