#HeadlineTherapy Why could a Council Leader lose her job after 4 months?

Thanks to Amy Holmes and BBC Online for the Headline

Unusually I know the answer to this Headline as the results are now in on the vote of No- Confidence and there is now a Liberal Democrat Council Leader with another election due in 2027.

So what has happened to local democracy and the previous Council Leader and how did Labour’s majority disappear without an election?

Well thanks to the  Labour’s National Executive and in line with Labour Party Policies and Procedures the previous Council Leader of 19 years was removed (although she was asked to say she was resigning).

Enter the National Executive’s chosen candidate and some Labour Councillors who were totally ignored by the Executive(not being considered for the post either of Leader or Deputy Leader).

Rightly so they left the Labour Party and chose to stand as Independents.Hence Labour lost their majority and the Liberal Democrats are in charge.

So voters wishes have again been railroaded by systemised politicking  at National Level. Candidates being appointed by external forces not local people.

I wish the Liberal Democrat Leader well.

Namaste and Thank You for Reading.🙏
