#HeadlineTherapy Three rescued searching for viral Highland cows

Thanks to Katie Waple of BBC News Online for the Headline

There’s a place called Buster Hill in Hampshire, England where occasionally some Highland Cows like to wander around as it ‘s their perfect terrain, full of gorse , the cows walk around daintily on their hooves and get some exercise. Enter humanity. On a bright summers day someone takes a picture of the Cows doing what cows like to do , chewing the cud and admiring the view and subsequently publish it on Social Media.

Towards the end of January this year, in declining weather conditions, three humans after discovering the Social Media Post decide to go searching for the cows in the wet and cold crossing wet gorse which is tangly underfoot with hidden hoof divets, excellent for hurting your ankle.

The three humans eventually realise it’s getting dark and cold and still no sign of the cows, so they contact Hampshire Fire and Rescue to rescue them from the pickle they’ve gotten themselves into . Dutifully they are rescued. Where were the cows? The cows were probably comfortably asleep in their barn, it is winter after all.

#HeadlineTherapy Tearful goodbyes as Japan returns pandas to China amid worsening ties

Thanks to BBC Online News Kelly Ng and Shaimaa Khalil for the Headline

It’s not the Pandas it’s Taiwan. Sad to say humans have brought animals into their conflict again. Poor Pandas, having the life of Riley in Japan, they were born there and now they have to go back to China who seem just to use them in bargaining powers to get bigger and better trade deals. In all honesty if China had have left the Pandas alone they probably would be extinct by now, and the World Wildlife Fund wouldn’t have a motto. Hope the Japanese Pandas have a good life in China, I suppose the Chinese have been very good at breeding them.

#HeadlineNews Crowborough: ‘Biggest protest yet’ as first migrants move into barracks

Thanks to ITV News for the Headline.

I’ve got to say what immediately struck me with this Headline was today, Tuesday 27th January, is Holocaust Remembrance Day. All victims of the Holocaust both Jew and non-Jew are remembered. I wish I could get the pictures of what happened during that period and what is still happening today into those protesters heads and the Politicians that support them.

#HeadlineTherapy Greenland and the Bundeswehr: Why the Arctic matters for Germany

Thanks to Johanna Urbancik of EuroNews Online for the Headline.

Intrigued that the Bundeswehr(an army of the German Parliament) tasked with German National Defence, Nato alliance commitments and International Crisis Management deployed 15 of their (260,000)number on a reconnaissance mission to Greenland for 15 days and called them back 1 day earlier due to deteriorating weather conditions. Welcome to Greenland. Let’s face it it’s one of the most inhospitable places on earth and therefore one of the most beautiful. The Bundeswehr were part of a force which consisted of a number of Nato countries in Peace Time mode and their presence was purely to assess the terrain which they obviously did and decided to pack up early.

#HeadlineTherapy Nelson Mandela’s prison key, sunglasses and shirt can be sold after daughter wins court battle

No doubt the great man would say there were more important things to concern South Africa than his personal items.

It’s all about money and heritage. Whereas Mandela’s life was about standing up for human rights, his life can never be represented by material things, he achieved something that a lesser person could not have and that is what he will be remembered for forever.

Let the crow’s fight over the pickings. They don’t matter

#HeadlineTherapy Post Office ‘dishonestly’ withheld evidence when suing subpostmaster court told

The Post Office and Fujistsu tried to stop Lee Castleton again from taking them to Court with their fancy barristers saying that the 500 or so compensation claims agreed in 2019 bars Mr Castleton from suing.

Mr Castleton’s point is that the compensation claim, though paid, did not clear his name and only a court of law can do that. He is looking for the 2007 judgement against him to be set aside on the basis that it was ‘obtained by fraud’.

I wish him well , apparently he has got past the first hurdle and there will be a trial and the Post Office and Fujistsu will have to stand up in Court and admit what they actually did. Probably something that they wish to avoid.

#HeadlineTherapy Japan suspends world’s largest nuclear plant hours after restart

Thanks to Hafsa Khalil at BBC Online News for the Headline

Whether we like it or not, and with the Fukishima disaster in 2011 where a Nuclear Plant was destroyed by a Tsunami, the Japanese public are well within their rights to say that they don’t want Nuclear Power, as we all are.

There is however a rub, in order to achieve zero emissions targets by 2050 Japan realises it must have Nuclear Power and has gradually being restarting their Nuclear Plants.

The latest attempt with Japan’s largest Nuclear Plant was delayed due to a malfunction in an alarm. In truth I can understand why this makes people nervous.

However, since 2015 , Japan has restarted 15 out of its 33 operable reactors, it needs them to generate electricity as we all do. Battery Power, Wind Power or any other source won’t fix the supply of energy as cleanly and as efficiently as Nuclear Fusion.

#An Afghan woman judge who escaped from the Taliban: ‘Ireland saved our lives’

Thank you to Hosanna Boulter of the Irish Times Online for the Headline

This Headline intrigued me , it is a real life example of an Afghan Woman and her husband who escaped the clutches of the Taliban when the Americans cleared out of Afghanistan an let the Taliban loose on the populus.

The lady in question , qualified as a ‘judge’ when she was 25 years old, the minimum age for a circuit judge in Afghanistan. While the Americans were present she was still in constant danger with death threats and had to keep a low profile as well as changing cars in order to avoid being attacked. Three of her colleagues were killed in car bomb attacks.

Once the Americans left though, she was a target for the Taliban and their aggression to women having any rights, never mind doing important work. She, her husband and unborn child had to leave very quickly and managed to get Irish Visas for themselves but had to leave the rest of their family behind who are now in hiding.

Thankfully, the little family are now able to begin rebuilding their lives in Ireland and as the lady who escaped says ,’ Ireland saved our lives’.

#Farmers block Lidl site with tractor barricade

Thanks to Danny Fulbrook of BBC News Online for the Headline

The demonstration to block the entrance to the large distribution site for Lidl supermarkets was to protest for fairer food prices. I am pleased it has raised the profile of their campaign and I hope the other supermarket chains such as Sainsburys, Marks and Spencers, Waitrose , Tesco’s Aldi and Morrisons all take note.

In order to guarantee animal welfare we need to ensure that the process of growing food and looking after animals is not loss making. We all have a responsibility for this.

#HeadlineTherapy Police fined after officers hurt by petrol bombs

Thanks to George Torr at BBC Online News for the Headline

Apparently the Personal Protective Clothing(PPE) that was issued to four officers on the training for dealing with petrol bombs was defective and caused them to suffer burns which resulted in them having to go to hospital , but thankfully they have recovered and have now returned to normal duties.

PPE has a lifespan and unfortunately those four sets of PPE had reached the end.

The Police Force was sued by the Health and Safety Executive as they didn’t do a proper risk assessment. Thankfully this issue has now been addressed and all training has been reviewed and presumably equipment will be checked before being handed out. I suppose this is important for when the Police are called out on duty for any incident.
