#HeadlineTherapy Welsh composer makes history as music tops worlwide chart

Thanks to Lena-Zaharah Mohanmmed and BBC News Online for the Headline

“The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace” by Welsh composer Sir Karl Jenkins was voted as the most popular work in the Classic FM Hall of Fame 2026.

The piece is dedicated to the victims of the War in Kosovo and reflects on the devastation of conflict while expressing hope for Peace.

It is as relevant today as it was when it was orginally written.

#HeadlineTherapy Indian migrant workers hit by cooking gas shortages are leaving cities

Thanks to Abhishek Dey (Delhi) and BBC News for the Headline.

The precarious living that migrant workers from India who moved into the big cities for work.

Their hope was to raise money and support their families from the villages they were born and raised in, but with the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz it is very difficult for them to afford or even find the cooking gas they rely on to run their small tea making and street food businesses. Let alone be able to cook for themselves. Thus they are having to return home as they cannot support themselves and will be unable to support their families. They have no option to return home.

It seems such a sharp contrast to the “American Dream” where if you work hard and make an effort to achieve things then you will be rewarded. However, I hope things stabilise and the “migrant street traders” can return and continue running their enterprises in the hope of a better life for their families.

#HeadlineTherapy Trump threatens to take out Iran in ‘one night ‘ if no deal before deadline.

Thanks to Bernd Debusmann Jr and Tom Bateman at the White House for BBC Online News

Apparently President Trump is not worried about being charged with “War Crimes” against Civilian Populations by destroying the infrastructure, hospitals, schools, transport , energy installations and homes in Iran. I suppose he’ll claim that it was Netanyahu’s doing and if push came to shove his hands are clean.

The President has advisors that tell him that he can keep his nose clean and still come out of this a hero, for showing strength and fortitude while the rest of the World looked on and didn’t “help”.

Frankly I am appalled at this situation. The human cost of this conflict is disgusting and it seems so unecessary.

India who is very much a Power Player in todays economic world has now been able to obtain Russian Oil, as sanctions have been lifted by America to supply it. Yet the sanctions were put in place for a reason and that reason has faded into obscurity. I wonder why? Seems there is no honour among thieves and abusers.

This Headline is something I can do nothing about , but I must say it upsets me and it should do you too.

#How rescue of US airman in remote part of Iran unfolded

Thanks to Cabriela Pomeroy and BBC News Online for the Headline.

First of all I would like to say that I’m very glad that the US Service men and woman involved in the rescue mission are all safe and will be reunited with their loved ones. It definitely was a mission in true Saving Private Ryan fashion.

What I find totally inappropriate is the “crowing” from the non-military people at the top, to be honest this was a debacle from the start, caused by politicians and their spurious motives. We must not forget that American lives have already been lost and there is no rescue mission that will ever bring them back.

Heroism and canniness is to be admired, the rhetoric and gung-honess of both the American and Iranian Politician’s not so.

Perhaps the facts of the rescue mission will filter through , hopefully after we resume a sensible progression towards Peace in the Middle East. Meanwhile I wish the “seriously injured man” a good recovery, because ejecting from a jet is very hard on the body.

#HeadlineTherapy ‘I bought the theme park I loved growing up’

Thanks to Emily Johnson and BBC News Online for the Headline

So a gentlemen has bought Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park near Ripon as it was one of his favourite places to go when visiting his Aunt and Uncle as a young boy.

The Park in it’s heyday had rides that were impressive, a rollercoaster which at the time was the longest one in the UK and it was called the “Ultimate”.

The emphasis changed with new owners and the costs of running the park to catering for younger children and the takings declined until the business went up for sale.

Now the new owner James Mellors has plans to bring the park back to life. Thankfully he is realistic about the business prospects and challenges but knows he needs to do something that will bring people in , both youngsters and the more mature thrill seekers.

I wish him success and hope he finds the “elixir of entertainment” and inspires another young person to follow their dream. We certainly need a good venue, that is value for money and also creatively inspiring and perhaps just a bit scary!

#HeadlineTherapy Everest guides accused of poisoning foreign climbers to force fake rescues in $20m scam

Thanks to Amelia Neath & Shweta Sharma and Independent News Online for the Headline.

Well who would have thought the criminal fraternity would go so far as to ruin the reputations of the likes of Sherpa Tensing and also ruin the landscape of Everest itself, scattered with tents and discarded equipment.

Apparently from 2022 to 2025 a total of 4782 international climbers have been “poisoned”, including lacing food with large amounts of baking powder to stimulate gastric distress. The scam was to claim on insurance for aerial evacuations. The scam included a range of participants including ” actors” who faked illness in order to be rescued.

So far the bills to the insurers and the climbers for fake rescues have amounted to $20million dollars.

Honestly if this article had been published on April the 1st , I would not have believed it.

#HeadlineTherapy Artemis II astronauts manually pilot Orion: Nasa video shows spacecraft heading towards moon

Thanks to Times of India Online for the Headline

So many ideas hit me when I read this headline and saw the video attached to it.

Really was it safe to send those astronauts up there in the middle of a crazy presidency where resources are now on the brink of scarcity due to Politicians?

Secondly, the video of the spacecraft looks like a metal box detaching itself, not exactly a spacecraft. It’s like the back of a silver articulated truck.

Oh well it’s progress I suppose?

#HeadlineTherapy Holocaust survivors in France came home to stolen apartments, looted furniture and bureaucratic hurdles

Thanks to Shannon Fogg, Missouri University of Science and Technology and The Conversation for this Headline

The displacement of refugees after the War, particularly the Jews who had had their property and businesses confiscated by the Nazi’s in lands that they had invaded.

Unfortunately even through all the suffering to those who if they weren’t killed themselves lost whole families in circumstances that for us, though we can read about it , we will never understand fully the trauma or appreciate the feelings associated with the experience of being so hated as someone wanting to destroy us.

Yet today it still happens.

However, this article from “The Conversation” details how even on their return to their homes, those displaced Jews did not or could not get immediate relief. There was no welfare effort to help them re-establish their lives , no, as I recently heard a “Modern Charity ” asking for money for Gaza call it ” Mental Health Aid”.

Those who survived and I think very much for Simone Veil, a phenomenal French Lawyer, and Human and Woman’s right advocate who survived Auschwitz and the Holocaust and recently passed. She overcame all of it and continued to pursue a wish for “rights for all”.

Administrations and Governments very often lose sight of the “rights and wrongs “of this World. I have no doubt that it’s only the people who can keep them focused and we must never forget that one man’s cruelty can affect millions, and prejudice and bad judgement can infiltrate and persist and needs to be constantly monitored.

Sad to say, this article made me realise how easily bad behaviour and lack of understanding can affect those who have been dealt severe blows and deserve empathy not disdain.

#HeadlineTherapy Petition launched to ban puppy-cuddle events.

Thanks to Ushma Mistry and BBC Online News for the Headline.

Not something I was aware of that people actually feel is necessary to do. Transport a bunch of newly born puppies , just weaned away from their mother to be cuddled by complete strangers. Seems very odd to me.

Even some Universities are using this to reduce the stress levels in their students. Honestly there are better ways, and in truth older dogs who are used to being with people will do the trick.

The process should always be managed and controlled by responsible people who are not looking to “sell” puppies ( one of the people quoted in the article was a dog breeder who thought it was a wonderful idea and I can see why).

Thankfully a dog trainer in Coventry, Nicky Brunt has started a Government Petition, being a dog trainer, she probably sees the problems that arise when dogs have had a bad experience early in life and need special care and rehabilitation to get over it. This can easily start when they are puppies.

The Dogs Trust and the RSPCA have also raised concern about these events, Nicky has worked with Coventry Council and recently was successful in cancelling a puppy cuddling event planned to be held in a “pub” in Leamington Spa.

I for one will be signing her Government petition as “puppy cuddling” is symptomatic of thinking of dogs as soft toys, but they are not toys, they are sentient beings and the puppy stage of their life sets them up for their future. They need to be with their mother and siblings and be appropriately socialised, not traumatised.

#HeadlineTherapy Dozing dormouse found in abandoned helium balloon.

Thanks to Helen Burchell from BBC Online News for the Headline

This headline and the story about the poor dormouse who didn’t wake up even when it was disturbed by Nature Loving litter pickers taking the remnants of a discarded helium balloon from a tree.

Luckily the Essex Wildlife Officer who spotted the little creature in cover which acted like a thermal blanket.Thankfully the little creature did not suffocate as we know plastic bags with no holes in them can .

The dormouse did not wake up from it’s winter sleep, it’s still too cold . So it’s been found another location , probably in a nice nesting box with straw and whatever else dormice need.

I know these balloons have sentimental value , but they can cause a lot of damage in the Countryside, and would be best replaced with some other form of memorial.
