A Bee

Daily writing prompt
What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?

The answer would have to be ,

The same as last year exactly,

A little bee ,

Would be the one for me,

In black and yellow looking furry,

Dive bombing a flower in a hurry,

It’s location a secret just for me,

And Ron the tattooist at Inky Knee

AI has generated a rather nice image.

Describe?

Daily writing prompt
What is one word that describes you?

What is in a word, at title or a name,

Isn’t it just another way to make you go insane?

Stunning Miss Magarita,

I will have to meet her,

Manly Lord Mc Pherson,

He’s just my sort of person,

These sort of monikers,

Are labelling that’s gone bonkers ,

So don’t worry how they describe you,

Or if they use one word or two.

You are OK.

Daily writing prompt
What was the best compliment you’ve received?

I was working in Birmingham for a then major car company, after three years I had bought my first flat which is within walking distance of the factory. With no car I became quite isolated from a group of friends who from being part of their lives , I had drifted apart from.

I’d been seeing a young man who knew unbeknown to me had known the group, but also unbeknown to me they hadn’t liked him. He had broken up with me to hitch up to a very wealthy young lady with a rich daddy, who was going to set him up in business. I didn’t know that part and to be honest I had decided I really was finished with him.

I can’t even remember how we broke up, but my little group of friends had frankly been unimpressed as I think he had been two timing me.

One of them , a nice young man, turned up at my doorstep, they were all worried about me and we had a chat over coffee. The crux of it was they all liked me and thought his new girlfriend was a disaster and that I was better off without them. I had to agree with him, but my overriding memory is that it was a compliment to me that my friends had thought about me and cared enough to go out of their way to see me.

I remember my mum was visiting me at the time so I really don’t know what she thought, but the visit stuck with me and made me realise that compliments come from areas that we hadn’t expected and are very important to our well-being .

It was a long time ago , so to still remember it to this day shows it was a beneficial and of real value.

Car

Daily writing prompt
You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

It would have to be car for me,

Airplane , train or bus it wouldn’t be,

Airplanes they don’t cross they fly over,

Sometimes prompt you are such a” dozo! “

Buses I love though they’re a bit big,

And suppose I have driver like the Stig?

90 miles an hour down a Country Lane,

Wearing a helmet would be such a pain,

So what type of bike would it be?

Pedal power or motor to look at the scenery,

I’d plump for my little red car it’s powered by petrol which is quite rare ,

It’s not the kind that makes people stare,

Hopefully there will be fuel in the pumps,

If there isn’t we know the fault is Trump’s

Confidence

Daily writing prompt
Who is the most confident person you know?

His name was Arthur Daley,

He was one of a kind,

He’d  sell a  clapped out Healey,

And laugh when you changed your mind,

The leaking oil, the rusty roof,

You thought you had a guarantee

He’d laugh at you and say “forsooth”,

It was fine when it left me.

Perspective

Daily writing prompt
What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?

You can always find a different way to look,

Problems are many and there are no answers in a book,

You cannot guarantee an outcome or scenario,

The secret is to see life as a flow,

It comes and goes and things happen,

Sometimes you can even see a pattern

Daily writing prompt
What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

There are a few I’ve been hooked on,

The Great Escape was surely one,

Steve Mc Queen playing baseball in his cell by himself

While Dickie Attenborough gets caught by German stealth,

There are lots more ,

But to remember names is such a chore,

Detectives, Soaps, Comedies and Plays,

Their names I fear are just a murky haze,

But the memories they made,

Will never fade

Yes, I’m superstitious.

Daily writing prompt
Are you superstitious?

I never thought of myself as being superstitious ,

Until one day a black cat passed my path three times,

To be honest I became skeptical and suspicious,

How had the cat crossed the railway lines?

I saw if first outside my house,

Hoping it would catch my front garden mouse,

Then it appeared at my feet on the train,

By then I was thinking this is insane,

Finally it glanced up as I bought my lottery ticket,

Then disappeared behind a brownfield thicket,

The next day I checked my numbers and though I never saw the cat again,

I must admit it was a very nice win,

So am I superstitious ?I must say yes,

How much did I win? You’ll have to guess.

Bears

Daily writing prompt
Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?

I love bears, brown, black, polar , European or Asian. Just think their bear like behaviour makes sense in the World they live in and they like trees and swimming sometimes. We differ in that I’m not that fond of Salmon.
