A Principality

What principles define how you live?

In principle,I’m not fond of principles, however the principle thing is to be principled.

Particularly if you live in the principality of Monaco which as most of the residents are ,tax evading exiles from other countries are definitely not principled.

“Let them eat cake !”

I hear them say to those of us who stick to our principles and eat wholemeal sourdough bread.

Namaste.

What have you been putting off doing? Why?

Putting off? No.Just trying to get everything done.

If I wrote lists they would be endless.I would have discovered perpetual regeneration as repetitive tasks would have to be rewritten each day and ad-hoc tasks gestate with the waxed and wanes of modern life’s bureaucracy.

I will not succumb to worrying about what I can or cannot do.

What I do will be sufficient for me.

If it’s not sufficient for others then so be it. Perhaps it will put them off.

That Grown Up Feeling

When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

Grown ups think they know a thing or two. They’ll stop you running across a busy road and tell you that eating a whole bag of fudge will make you sick.

Jeez,they have a superiority complex.

In the 1960’s there was a supposedly liberating revolution and the youngsters took over while the “grown ups”looked on and looked out of touch.

But it’s all gone back to square one again. The grown ups think they know best and are in charge again.

Yeah, like most revolutions, the 1960’s fizzled out and now we’re left with tertiary educated autocrats who want to control everything about our lives.

I wouldn’t mind but grown ups don’t always know best.

And there’s the Rub

What’s something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail.

Why attempt something only if you are guaranteed not to fail? What would be the point?

Failure is necessary,it’s not always a bad thing ,it is part of life.

Without an opposite and equal reaction we would not be able to push through life’s challenges, indeed gravitational pull helps us stand up to all sorts of things.

And there’s the Rub,no pain ,no gain.

A multi-layered Goal

When I was a baby I suppose my goal was to learn how to talk , I don’t remember actually having a goal to achieve it , I think it just happened. Does that count? It really was a momentous achievement for me.

The closest thing to feeling that way today personally ,is learning a new language and the goal is for me to become multi-lingual.

I’m working on it .

It’s a amazing feeling, mastering the element of language and honestly a real benefit to my mental health.

It’s something for me and it’s something that over time throws challenges of understanding and memorising that are multi-layered as well as well actually being quite straight forward(life is not always so complicated, sometimes we just need to ask a stranger the time, or how to find the museum).

Simple phrases have the benefit of making me feel connected to a bigger world; recognising, being polite and kind to each other is a part of language that we can all relate to and do more of.

” Hello, how are you? “

Or the commonality of saying.

“The traffic is very busy”

It helps me think like a child again, and stops me obsessing about things, that actually we all face, and just have to be deal with. It takes me back to a time when I didn’t even know what a goal was.

This goal truly is a Eureka moment for me and also is something I will have with me for the rest of my life

It ‘s a very tough goal , but also the most rewarding.

Nature

Who are your favorite artists?

I wracked my brains with this one, trying to think who was my favourite artist. Had I ever experienced Stendhal Syndrome over a work of art.No.

Then it struck me like a fork of lightning .Nature is my artist,my insurmountable, interactive and available artist whom I see every day and very much love.
