Ha Ha…..Second Bite of the Cherry (Tomato)…..Sandwich City

What cities do you want to visit?

Well Jetpack said I’ve answered the prompt and my PC Version of WordPress said I haven’t . So I get a second bite of the Cherry.

I thought I’d be current, as one of the current scandals in British Politics is the recently elected Leader of the Opposition saying that she does not like “Sandwiches” or damp bread, and that she doesn’t believe in stopping for lunch at all in true “Gordon Gekko” style. Apparently she sends out for steak (most likely at tax payers expense as all the Politicians food is subsidised), for her lunch.

Well dear Kemi,

Let me take you by the hand , through the streets of Sandwich City, it will make you change your mind”. (Apologies Ralph McTell)

I do worry sometimes that Politicians on the right lack the feel for the Common man and Woman which is understandable if you are married to an Investment Banker and are Leader of the Conservative Party. You should though think before you eat, because you may have alienated a significant part of the population who otherwise may have supported your megalomaniac ideas about everything else.

Yes, I know balance sheets and profit and loss results are important, but so my dear are working conditions and for those of us without MP expenses, holidays and whatever other benefits Parliament have voted for themselves. The option of ringing out for a steak delivery for most is just not feasible and for a lot is totally repugnant.

Maybe popping out to Marks and Spencers, or a local Independent Delicatessen , both of who are very proud of their “Sandwich Heritage”. Yes, I know , Politicians policies have destroyed the High Street and lots of people work in Industrial Estates where they need food delivered because there aren’t near any shops.

Kemi, look a High street in Sandwich City, buzzing with people , spending their lunch break , chatting , enjoying their own unique choices , vegetarian, sour dough bread , sipping their coffee, rejuvenating themselves for an afternoon of work.

I mean what is the problem, and not just that how about employment and the profits that come from the Companies that make Sandwiches for the masses. The Sandwich Industry makes a contribution to GDP, do you not think that Sandwich making is an art that is useful employment?

You see this pub the “Earl of Sandwich” , it celebrates the gentleman who is said to have invented the Sandwich. Sandwiches have historical merit that a lot of Conservative Party Members would appreciate.

Interestingly enough what John Montagu , “The Fourth Earl of Sandwich ” is known for is incompetence, although this may have been recorded by scurrilous journalists of the period and passed on into history. (a lesson for all politicians) Apparently he was an inveterate gambler and didn’t want to take a break so asked his servants to bring him some meat wedged between two pieces of bread. Thus the Sandwich was invented.

Yes, Kemi, perhaps you can do without the bread, but that isn’t the point.

The workers need a break and they need time and food to regenerate themselves. Work breaks are just that, they are time for refreshments and refreshing yourself.

Oh and I should just mention , it’s not just eating we do during our lunch breaks , we need toilet breaks too.

In Sandwich City, there is the perfect balance of access to refreshments and the time to take them an refresh yourself. What is so bad about that Kemi?

I hope this has been a useful experience for you Kemi and has given you food for thought.

In my Dreams

What cities do you want to visit?

In my dreams I would visit Cities, Towns and Villages that are being torn apart by discontent and worst of all greed and avarice.

I would have a magic powder that I would sprinkle that would bring people back to their senses and make them realise that the future needs to be somewhere where everyone wants to go.

Namaste. Thank you for reading.

“They were there.”

Daily writing prompt
Tell us one thing you hope people say about you.

Well what nicer thing could anyone say about you than you turned up and you were there.

You see that is the crux of everything. So I will consult my wondrous AI imager and see what they come up with.

And that for me sums it up, whatever happens be there for people if you can. I know we can’t always be, but we can only try and it is after all what makes the World go around.

My Epitaph.

Namaste and thank you for reading.

Two Bites at the Cherry On This One

Tell us about your first day at something — school, work, as a parent, etc.

Ah Special Something , as there can and will be many Special Somethings, I will ask my AI Creature again……

Somewhat different from my first Special Something, but nevertheless quite wonderful. Reminds me of the rolling hills of the dessert , without the dreadful appearance of the Beckham’s in a Landrover Safari in Dubai or indeed worse, whatever could be worse.

Hopefully this answer will be accepted as a post….. here goes.

Namaste. Wonderful people , thank you for reading.

My Day at Something

Tell us about your first day at something — school, work, as a parent, etc.

Ah again Digitally Created Prompter, you are guilty of worshipping the number One!

First, may or may not be the best. Nice so many can remember some of the details of their Special Something.

My Special Somethings sometimes happened on Day One, but then again they may have happened on Day Two, Three or Four, or any other figure that you can think of.

Either way they were Special.

Analogizing Life was bad enough, but Digitisation seems even shallower.

So I turned to AI to maybe capture a picture that summarised ” A Special Something”

AI Created “Special Something” and I love it.

Thank you for reading. Namaste

Shadow Shapes

What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

I have a little Pinkie

It’s like a little Winkie

Some say that that is Lude

Really they are just Rude

For my Pinkie likes to Wriggle

And my friends they always Giggle

A Rabbits Ear or A Witches Tongue

A little bird when Spring has Sprung

To tell the truth , and verify,

There’s no need to tell a lie,

It isn’t just Pinkie at all !

All my Fingers have a Ball!

Everything is Dandy and Right

Until my mum turns off the Light

Admiration

What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

Crikey , the reality is there is not any person in this World that I don’t admire for getting through the day without hurting or wilfully being nasty to anyone. Yes , you can try and improve things for yourself , but how wonderful to improve things for everyone and not be egotistical about it.

Namaste . Thank you for Reading.

Cartoons were fun

What’s your favorite cartoon?

Cartoons were fun,the slapstick of Tom and Jerry always seemed amazing to me.No one ever died and revenge was hopeless.Everyone lived to fight another day.

I don’t think I’ve watched a cartoon in a long while, although animation as an art form certainly has its ‘place.

Possibly some high art form would be my thing now.I think I started watching a Japanese animated film about a young boy who tries to look after his sister after losing their parents in the war,I couldn’t watch it to the end as it was so sad. The little girl died of starvation.

There you go,I am glad that Tom and Jerry were around when I was a kid, they gave me  resilience and perspective.

Namaste,thank you for reading
