Jobs Worth Technology

Daily writing prompt
How has technology changed your job?

Technology; or whatever we call developments and improvements(hopefully) to our way of living, including working has been part of our existence since we ignited a spark to make fire and warm ourselves and cook, or in the case of the Phoenicians simplify the alphabet to make communication easier between themselves and those they traded with.

Rather than worry or complain, we can take what is useful from these developments and benefit (hopefully).

Personally, I could never have predicted the changes, but I adapted to them and now can see some were good and some were bad. I would say communication and data gathering improved, but on the downside people didn’t really know what to do with the mass of data they were gathering.

The biggest downfall was interpretation of data, particularly financial data, big numbers had to be right and if they weren’t the results were disastrous. Bankruptcies, Redundancies and possibly Fraud Allegations to Companies ,many of which were long standing.

In many ways Technology and it’s impact is like the worse Jobs worth employee you could have, inflexible and by the book , when what you need is a little bit of creativity. AI brings it to the next level, but at the end of the day it could be the worse Jobs Worth you could imagine.

Co-Pilot

How has technology changed your job?

Microsoft wants to  Co-Pilot  my life,

Reduce my effort,combat strife

Guide me through all the little things I do,

Make sure I’m present,make sure who’s who,

It’s included in my subscription for now you see

It’s an AI gift ,but how long for free?

The more I let it do it’s thing

The less originality it will bring

One day it will tell me ,you have no money left,

And leave me in the lurch, totally bereft.

For truth be known I’m totally alone

Bill Gates just wants my assets to own.

Namaste,thank you for reading.
