#HeadlineTherapy Anne Boleyn painting is ‘actually a different royal’claims historian

Thanks to Harry Cockburn of the Independent Online for the Headline.

So apparently in order to boost her entitlement to Royal lineage , Elizabeth the First, had a portrait of Anne Boleyn( her mother who was executed by her father King Henry V111) painted with a strong resemblance or indeed based on her own appearance.

At the time of her reign, there were many threats to her right to the Monarchy, so it was natural to use any method to publicise that she was indeed the rightful heir to the English Throne.

It seems odd to me that she would want to be associated with a woman who Henry V111, said was such a wicked and wanton woman. In fact it’s amazing that Elizabeth 1 turned out to be such an effective Queen who ruled for 45 years despite being made illegitimate when her parents marriage was annulled. Henry having a change of mind when Elizabeth was ten years old and restored her to the line of succession.

A lot of water was still to pass under the bridge, but I’d like to think that the portrait was also produced as a way for Elizabeth to honour her mother, who having died when she was barely two , she would hardly have known what she looked like.

Let’s face it Elizabeth never married or had children of her own, perhaps her mother’s story made her fiercely independent and skeptical about the fate of Tudor women and maybe the one thing she could cling onto was the love of her mother.

It was probably a man’s world.

Online Communication

In what ways do you Communicate Online?

Online Communication

Is important for the Nation

We order food and many things

On subscription and helplessly click as the cash till rings

The Bank says we’re overdrawn

We stare at the screen and begin to yawn

No problem, our parents account is just a cash cow

We’ll transfer the funds in real-time now

We want to tell our friends we are somewhere

Lost or found , travelling or not at all there

Our friends dont’ really want to know

But if they don’t look they might just miss the show

A video of you falling on ice,

They laugh and don’t think about it twice,

They scroll and move on to the next event

Was that what that Celebrity really meant?

You wait online to book a show

You’re patient because you really want to go

The Satellite is overloaded , you lose your slot

Then get sold some tickets by a pop-up bot,

Their fake but you don’t find out until it’s too late

When you are refused entry at the gate.

So I love my WordPress it seems so clean

And everyone is nice and no one is mean

There is a lesson for us all on here

That information is never free and truth is very, very dear.

Namaste and Thank You for Reading. 🙏

#HeadlineTherapy Atlantic puffin washes up on Hove beach after Storm Goretti

Thanks to Charles Pring from The Argus for the above Headline

I can’t imagine how frightened the little puffin ( the clown of the sea) must have been being washed up in the wrath of Storm Goretti.

It’s fantastic that we have people who volunteer to do wildlife rescues and that the little bird was rescued and rehabilitated and sent on it’s way back to wherever it was going.

They live at sea for most of their lives and only return for nesting, so poor little mite obviously got waylaid.

Glad it was rescued and well done to everyone involved.

Think Back

Daily writing prompt
Think back on your most memorable road trip.

I’m not in the mood to think back

I want to have a change of tack

To live in the moment is what I do

I thoroughly recommend it now to you

There’ll come a time to consider the past

Tomorrow when having your normal repast

You’ll see an article about a town

You remember a long time ago, there you were bound

The road was long , the trip was sad

Though you don’t remember anything particularly bad

It wasn’t a holiday , or even for work

Luckily the vehicle never lost it’s torque

You travelled along at an even pace

Happy to be out of the rattus race

Arrived, the Town itself seemed half asleep

And the local pond seemed very deep

You stopped to feed the birds and couldn’t help but smile

Their excited flutters made it all worthwhile.

Namaste and Thank You for Reading.🙏

#HeadlineTherapy Dispersal order issued after 200 drivers gather in Sussex

Thanks to Charles Pring ,reporter The Argus Online for the Headline

Boy and Girl Racers beware , you are not allowed to gather and cause a nuisance to other road users.

This incident that required police intervention happened in Sussex but in truth it could have happened anywhere. Apparently they initially gathered in Worthing (obviously a den of iniquity) and drove out to “sleepy retirement by the sea” Hove, presumably to find an open fish and chip shop and do some storm watching if the see was rough.

Apparently however, the Police were asked by locals to issue a dispersal order and not allow more than 35 cars to gather at one time ( about car park size) and to have the dispersal order over the whole of the weekend.

It’s Monday now , excitement over.

#HeadlineTherapy ‘Kill Switch’- Iran Shuts Down Starlink Internet for First time

Thanks to Zak Doffman a contributor about security, surveillance and privacy at Forbes for the Headline

I think this headline is very effective not in just telling the story of the shutting down of Communications in Iran , but also in portraying the danger that the protesters are in by actually just saying that they are unhappy with the situation in Iran. “Kill Switch” meant to me not just blocking the satellite communications with Starlink, but also taking revenge on those that are using it.

Will the authorities manage to block the people with the illegal devices that can track the satellites and transmit communications with them? So far they have managed to block about 80% of the traffic, however at a cost to themselves in Iran’s Economic Performance. It seems that the Economy needs a decent Internet Communication to function. So the Iranian Authorities are indeed not just repressing their people , they are also shooting themselves in the foot at the same time.

To snack or not to snack that is the question?

What snack would you eat right now?

Oh snack, leave me alone

You tempt me like a wicked crone

You hark me back to childhood years

And gourd me with fat and fears

Those unnatural powdered additives of red and yellow

Those frothy lipids that make me mellow

Oh snack you wicked licentious hag

For my sake get back in your bag.

#HeadlineTherapy Another California resident dies of death cap mushroom poisoning.

Thanks to Evan Bush and Aria Bendix from NBC News for the Headline

Tragically, there has been a many fold increase in the instances of death cap mushroom poisoning in California with 35 cases recorded in that last couple of months where normally there would be fewer than 5.

So far three people have died from the poisoning. The poison in them amatoxin can cause irreversible liver damage.

Weather conditions including early rains and a mild autumn have resulted in a surfeit of the toxic mushrooms which are very similar in appearance to edible mushrooms.

Small amounts of the death cap mushroom can be fatal, as little as a standard sugar cube.

I suppose the advice is just buy mushrooms from a trusted source and make sure you Health Insurance Premiums are up to date.

Thankfully an expert who studies the prevalence of the death cap mushroom is saying that the risk is reducing due to the season finishing and perhaps colder weather coming . Still the spores will be ready next year, so if you are going to forage , be careful.

#HeadlineTherapy Council turns down Cage film over Nazi swastikas

This is the type of headline that I love, somehow associating Nicholas Cage with requests to wave Nazi memorabalia and flags. Definitely made me have a second look, whether I’d go and see the film is another thing. Although I do think Cage is an excellent actor.

For those of you who want to know ,the film is ” Operation Fortitude” about the efforts of the British in 1944 to mislead Nazi Germany about the nature and timings of the D-Day landings and the storming of Normandy.

Enter stage right Waltham Forest Council, who wanted time to consider their role and the fact that the beautiful Waltham Forest Town Hall would be covered in Nazi paraphernalia ( big flags) and that the local people would have to understand that it was purely for a film and that they hadn’t politically moved to the extreme right.

Unfortunately due to filming pressures; the shoot had to be moved forward a month and it was impossible for the Council to play their part( bit like Marilyn Monroe, they were not in the mood and needed more time to consider) which due to filming pressures apparently they couldn’t have.

The preemptive letters sent by the film Company to the locals living nearby ( sent before anything had been agreed) explaining that when they started filming “the Nazi Flag’s would be highly visible” just confused everyone and the Council were quite adamant that no Nazi flags visible or otherwise would be flying on their Council Buildings.

So the shoot was moved to Greenwich, presumably to the old Navy buildings there.

The Council were quite clear that there was no cost or benefit or threats of suing as a result of this change of plan. I actually think the Council buildings look fine as they are , quite Art Deco if you ask me and I’m sure Nicholas Cage is pleased to be working again.

Namaste and Thank You for Reading. 🙏

AI interpretation of Art Deco Council Building , definitely not the Council Building.

#HeadlineTherapy Former monastery could be converted into new homes.

Thanks to Annabelle Martin Gloucestershire, BBC Online News for the Headline

Prinknash Abbey in Gloucestershire was sold to developers in 2008 by the Benedictine Monks who lived there, due to the costs associated with running the building becoming prohibitive, they moved to another building nearby called St Peter’s Grange where they continue their monastic life making incense and practicing their religious beliefs with their ever decreasing numbers.

The Abbey could now be transformed into eight homes and 20 apartments under a planning application submitted to Stroud District Council. The proposals have been backed by the Abbey Trustees, whereas previous proposals have been turned down.

We visited Prinknash in 2011 the Monks were no longer living at the Abbey and we didn’t have a dog. There is Deer Park in the grounds which is operated privately and was closed for sometime, but has now reopened as a facility for people to again walk in the area and see the animals that are kept there for a fee.

It would be sad to see the buildings deteriorate and it would be nice for the area to be developed tastefully and for people to live there again. I hope they can maintain the beauty of the area and make it accessible for those who can also appreciate it’s beauty.

Namaste and Thank You for Reading.🙏
