#HeadlineTherapy Kent wildlife charity ‘left with no choice ‘but to euthanise wolf pack

Thanks to ITVX Online News for the Headline

This is a very sad story and hits on our sensitivity to animals not being like soft toys, but being visceral genetic creations going back in time that live in packs and fight tooth and nail to survive, but also cannot be forced to live together for our misguided sake of some sort of brotherly, sisterly familial relations which in the wild simply do not exist.

Were the wolves themselves rescued and a pack created? Could they have been left in the wild or do we need to accept that their behaviour was natural and not something we could control. Did they have enough space ?

A Wildlife park near us shot a female wolf who had had several pups, because she escaped from her enclosure. So reading this Headline brought it all back to me, I never really understood why they couldn’t have used a tranquillizer method to catch her or why the wolf wanted to escape in the first place. When I visited the park and saw the pack, the wolves never really seemed happy. In fact, they exhibited repetitive behaviour’s that made me think they were unhappy , so perhaps we should decide that a wolf’s place is in the Wild and not in a Wildlife Park.
