Oh but I’m in love with Google and see Microsoft as a seedy, brain corrupting , time fondling annoyance, who want me to pay them by subscription for something that is unoriginal and only needs such regular updates because they want to know what I’m doing.
It’s like meeting Bill Gates in a bar and him breathing stale whisky over me while not being willing to get off his bar stool to let me by without touching his knee. Why oh why , every time I turn on my computer do I have to log out of Teams because it wants me to connect. I will choose when I want to connect.
The Headlines that are thrown onto my timeline by Microsoft are worse than a bad day at the Sun Newspaper. Titillating and Click Baiting to get attention.
Google on the other hand , with their icons and a bit of historical and current consciousness. Yes I want to know that it’s Charles Darwin’s birthday, that Bob Sleigh is an Olympic Sport and that basically Google will let me search for what I want when I want. It’s always helpful, never intrusive.
I suppose Microsoft missed the boat with not developing the premier Search Engine and have been trying to catch up for years , hence they act like the loud person at the party trying to get attention shouting “Bing,Bing,Bing”. It’s a character thing.
Still rant over, but I do wish Microsoft had a bit more decorum.
