Food waste

Just saw a Reform Councillor say that food waste bins were a waste of money as who could afford to waste food nowadays. That she doesn’t have any food waste.

Amazing, don’t you have vegetable peelings. We should be eating more fresh fruit and vegetables and in truth the preparation for that would easily fill a food waste bin each week for a family.

Also cooking anything leads to a little bit of waste be it burnt on scrambled egg or little bits of rice stuck to the pan or cream.I strain my washing up water and put these “bits” in my food waste to prevent the drain from blocking and also it’s good compostable material.

So how this councillor has no food waste is astounding.Perhaps she lives on take aways and eats everything?

  1. Bold claim.
Peelings do not disappear on their own.
    Cooking always leaves something behind.
If there is no food waste at all, the kitchen story feels incomplete.
