Thankfully common sense and justice has prevailed with campaigners who were publicising their heartfelt cause in a Public Space and during a General Election by way of public freedom of speech. They were asking a campaigning MP to answer questions about how they had voted on an issue that was important to them and also broader issues relating to their concerns.
The result was , they were arrested and charged for harassment, presumably on the basis of the MP’s evidence. However, their convictions were overturned almost two years later, because as the deciding Judge said that less intrusive measures such as a police warning or civil action were not pursued prior to prosecution. I wonder if it would be possible to pursue a case with the MP of wasting valuable Police time and Court time.
