Remember,Remember

Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?

Well it was a book linked to a vinyl LP that my mother bought for us which was Hansel and Gretel.I don’t remember the music, but I do remember the Grimm’s story.

Anyway, it was beautiful and I love fairy and gremlin stories to this day.

Best Regards

Geraldine

Three Books….out of so many

List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

I think literature in all languages and eras has an  embracing effect on everyone.A few words can mean a lot and a good story is worth its’ weight in gold.

A top three, ten or twenty is irrelevant. It can be very much a moment in time. Enjoy.

What Fears?

A hairy spider ran across the floor,

I ran quickly for the door,

For three days I did not enter again,

I decided to sleep in my snug den,

I wrapped myself up quite tight,

I even kept on the light

After three days it was safe to go in,

I couldn’t let the spider win,

And sure enough on the third dawn.

That pesky spider had gone.

“Win, Win” I proudly cried,

And hoped the spider hadn’t died.

The Scandal with Overcharging for Heating

People, there is a Company called OVO who scared the living daylights out of vulnerable and elderly people, causing an incredible amount of anguish to them.

Demands for Bills of £4500 to be paid immediately, and it was all an error on OVO’s part.

Where was the help for these people.Any of the services who look after their needs could have worked out that a serviced one bed property could not generate such large bills. Yet the vulnerable  were left alone to deal with OVO.

I would suggest that “caring” be turned into ” real caring” and not some weird false community guarantee of minimum effort and maximum publicity for the givers.

There was no common sense to what OVO was doing and probably a local authority accountant could have told them the sums they were demanding were nonsensical.

Appreciating the opportunity to do a good thing.

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

What is good?

If you can be good and do good.If you have that opportunity, then you are very lucky.

Namaste.
