It’s a Steal

Tis a funny kind of deal,,

To take  back the steel,

For so long it’s been hated,

Five star  pollution rated,

A carbon nightmare of vast proportions,

Ignoring all climate change cautions,

Keep the furnaces burning,we need their metal

Mrs Craggy we need your kettle,

Stainless is what we do best

But if you pay us we’ll do the rest,

It wasn’t worth the Chinese while ,

And now they’re  angry and   fermenting bile,

Let’s hope they don’t take revenge,

And send their J-17’s  over Stonehenge,

Just for show ,no one wants a war,

In truth it’s their ego that’s a bit sore,

But the cost will be far in the future,

A carbon mess and all for  pewter.

British Steal  or Chinese Steel

Somehow Politicians have reconciled keeping two massive blast furnaces fed when the real owners who presumably had paid monies for the Steelworks wanted to close them down

Well so much for Global Warming and Global Trade Agreements.

China owned British Steel, and now a change of Law allows the current Government to take it back. A large proportion of the people working in the location in the U.K. were Chinese Nationals and most likely were well qualified and at managerial level.

So given we have eroded our skill levels in manufacturing how will these blast furnaces survive and do we really want them to?

Labour saves British jobs! The headlines will say and Politicians will pat themselves on the back. However, this is a short term action with potentially catastrophic  long term consequences.

The real reason Starmer and his cohorts want to keep those furnaces going is Steel for war. We’re going back to being an Island in the 1940’s where we stood alone against Hitler, we need our Steel.

Yes,now we will be Patriotic and ensure we have a steel making facility. This was not a long term plan, the plan that was being followed was don’t manufacture anything, sell it off, buy it in and be a trading Country.

And here we are,an unseemly rush to keep two old furnaces going, King Charles had no choice but to sign the decree to allow the Government basically to take over a privately run business, but Charles being an environmentally aware King, surely must see the lunacy in maintaining two clapped out furnaces which really makes a mockery of reducing Co 2 emissions.

And who will pay for this mismanagement, the people of course. We need to keep the Furnaces going,no matter what the cost or the quality of steel they produce.

We will save money by cutting budgets in other areas and by stealing money from Pensioners and those who can’t defend themselves. Not to mention the damage to the environment.

We will have steel to build weapons and vehicles for our conscripted soldiers who will fight for what they do not know.A shell of an existence, poor education, alcohol and drug fueled team work outings and a lifestyle that they never will be able to afford, but that their parents once could.

Perhaps people in China are happier.I’d like to think so

Perhaps I have something.

Describe something you learned in high school.

That if you are good at sport ,bullies don’t bother you.

I had a bad feeling I was going to be picked on by a group of girls, but it was just before our one and only ever hockey lesson at school

The teacher wanted to demonstrate the basics of a tackle using a hockey stick  and chose me as her opposition.I stopped her every time she tried to get by me.

Later on I noticed the main girl had decided that I was no longer a target.

It was a weird feeling, but sadly they just moved on to someone else.

So many books,so little time.

What book could you read over and over again?

I can’t be alone in always getting more out of a book by reading it more than once.

So there are many books I would reread.

And it is one of the great pleasures of life to revisit a book, just like an old friend.

Namaste and Thank you for reading.

Andras Bonhime

If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?

I would want to be Andras Bonhime ,

A jaunty hero of another time

A feisty  character of charm and wit,

Who  first appeared in a book called “Pit”

Later  turned into a film “Drift”

The book’s  title  no one understood at all,

But the rights were bought by Lucille  Ball,

She said it had legs just like her

And thought it would make Desi a big movie star,

Andreas fought  his way through every page,

And after four chapters never seemed to age,

From fair lady to foul and back again,

He swash buckled his way through thick and

thin,

The director tried but Desi’s age showed,

To a younger actor Desi bowed,

The  action was light, but the film took flight

Andras Bonhime won every fight,

It was a story of love and passion and grit,

With no mention of the dreaded “Pit”.

“Drift ” became a household favourite,

With fans of Andreas being most forthright

Soon Lucille’s coffers began to earn,

She had tonnes of money ,enough to burn,

Andras certainly was a spot

The box office takings were very hot,

As with everything good and true,

The film never made it to sequel two,

But Andras remains a character of gold,

Appearing  in one of the best stories ever told.

An animal( no matter in the wild or not )is a companion not a pet.

What animals make the best/worst pets?

I don’t have a pet,

I have a companion,

Just a dog,but I’m his minion,

There’s things he knows,

Places he goes,

That I have forgotten long  about

For that he  sighs and  cares but  nout,

I provide him shelter ,warmth and better food,

And for that he promises to be good,

In his little heart though he’s a part of the wild

Even though I treat him like a little child.

He plays his part and does his duty

And rolls on his tummy when I call him cutey,

His friends long past would laugh to see,

Their D.N.A expressed in such frivolity,

There is no such thing as an animal pet,

They are companions and we owe them  such a

debt,

They give us love and trust and care

But their history is wild and we must be aware,

And give them space to think and do,

And live a life just like you.
