I saw a Green Sunset at Tolcarne Beach in Newquay in Cornwall, UK some years ago .
One warm summer evening with the perfect atmospheric conditions, no cloud and a calm sea, a momentary Green Flash on the Horizon appeared ; bright as an Emerald ,just as the Sun seemed to dip into the Ocean. The Green Sunset was a fine jewel to see. Everyone present was in awe. A girl who had lived in Cornwall for sixteen years said it was the first time she had seen it. To her, it had been another Cornish Myth.
I’ve since looked for those ideal conditions, a clear horizon and the sun appearing to set in the ocean …. I feel very lucky to have witnessed it once, I will keep looking on the horizon wherever I travel. The secret is to keep looking.
