What’s something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail.
Why attempt something only if you are guaranteed not to fail? What would be the point?
Failure is necessary,it’s not always a bad thing ,it is part of life.
Without an opposite and equal reaction we would not be able to push through life’s challenges, indeed gravitational pull helps us stand up to all sorts of things.
When I was a baby I suppose my goal was to learn how to talk , I don’t remember actually having a goal to achieve it , I think it just happened. Does that count? It really was a momentous achievement for me.
The closest thing to feeling that way today personally ,is learning a new language and the goal is for me to become multi-lingual.
I’m working on it .
It’s a amazing feeling, mastering the element of language and honestly a real benefit to my mental health.
It’s something for me and it’s something that over time throws challenges of understanding and memorising that are multi-layered as well as well actually being quite straight forward(life is not always so complicated, sometimes we just need to ask a stranger the time, or how to find the museum).
Simple phrases have the benefit of making me feel connected to a bigger world; recognising, being polite and kind to each other is a part of language that we can all relate to and do more of.
” Hello, how are you? “
Or the commonality of saying.
“The traffic is very busy”
It helps me think like a child again, and stops me obsessing about things, that actually we all face, and just have to be deal with. It takes me back to a time when I didn’t even know what a goal was.
This goal truly is a Eureka moment for me and also is something I will have with me for the rest of my life
It ‘s a very tough goal , but also the most rewarding.
I wracked my brains with this one, trying to think who was my favourite artist. Had I ever experienced Stendhal Syndrome over a work of art.No.
Then it struck me like a fork of lightning .Nature is my artist,my insurmountable, interactive and available artist whom I see every day and very much love.
Evolutionary progress and artificial intelligence made the car territorial.
The people had wanted more done for them, driving, having to think was such an inconvenience, when all they wanted to do was gossip and compare their achievements with those of others
Google had been at the forefront of autonomous cars ,but it was a rogue operator who introduced the virus to the AI software ,all the developers had approved and were working internationally on.
Without being aware of it,cars had begun to act like scent marking animals.Driveways became their own, certain lampposts and parking places were solely for their use.
All cars were affected, and in the open Countryside,it was perhaps not such a problem.Farmers and farm workers were surprised when their vehicle stopped and sprayed water from the radiator or sometimes from the window cleaning water jets.Sometimes a spot of oil would seep from the axle.
The farmers began to notice a pattern and favoured places were regularly marked by different vehicles from different farms. The farmers quickly realized that there was a form of communication going on.
Vehicles would disappear and be found in groups near a favoured spot.It was obvious they’d had a sort of informal meet. There were tyre markings all over the place. Some of the cars were damaged as if they’d had a scuffle.Farmers began to demobilize their vehicles to stop them from running amok.
In the city and suburbs though it was a disaster.
The cars began piling up and blocking roads, there was total carnage everywhere,no one could get on the motorways to go anywhere.Indeed no one could go anywhere because all of the vehicles became totally uncontrollable.
The virus had spread to all the vehicles and the only safe method of travel became bicycles, but it was too late. The damage had been done.Everything stopped and the realisation came that there was going to be no quick solution.
What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?
Charles Darwin and his Origin of the Species struck me when I first learned of his conclusions,as uncontestable. Nature rewards natural advantage with survival of the fittest.
I have only changed my mind on how others interpret his thesis . The realization that what a simple mind may regard as “fit” is in fact ,totally unfit adds spice to Darwin’s original argument.
Actually,it makes me laugh,Nature recognises qualities in all terrains of survival, with every tool it can use. Some, look awkward to us ,eg.a lizard discarding its’ tail to escape or a snail moving about so slowly to munch on greenery?Compare that with the majestic nature of the mammals such as lions, elephants and tigers who hunt and move with stealth and grace.
So when I hear anyone described as “fit”,because they fit what has been categorised as attractive, able or beautiful.I laugh.Going to the gym and running marathons will never compare with the amazing ability of spider’s to weave incredible webs in all sorts of locations
The only question I have with Darwin’s theory is about death, why is there a fight to survive death and do the non-survivors go through the process of death with fear and trepidation, and does fear play a role in survival. Why fear non-existence?
Or does everything always exist? So there is no need to fear death.Yet everything runs from it.
I’m certainly running from it,but mainly because I don’t understand it.
If the 6 week “Do it yourself Keyhole Larynxdichotomy” was available at my winter season community night classes,I would sign up.
After completing my course with distinction, being a secret agent and having access to all sorts of World Leaders and Journalists and Influencers.I would do my magic while they slept and help them understand the importance of silence.
The operation is completely and successfully reversible,so once they had learned to appreciate the benefits of open discussion.I would reverse it for them.
