1) Emotional support Children are constantly trying to learn about the world around them. Talking about how they feel is a learnt skill. They don’t start out knowing this. They will need help to manage their emotions, such as dealing with frustration, anger or sadness. 2) Education Children will need assistance in understanding how to […]
They bring missiles into playgrounds, where children once ran, happy and free. Beds where dreams should safely bloom, have become fields of fear and debris. Those in power guard iron walls, and not the fragile hearts that break. Grown-ups dodge their duty still, while expecting children to awake. Irony it is, that cuts sharper than […]
I am proud to be part of this Earth, the only place where life thrives and grows.Whether it is the first sprout rising from the soil or the young of animals and birds, every new life reflects pure energy. The greatest source of hope however lies in our children. They are our students, our responsibility […]
Have you heard how Indians are helping the children of war-torn Gaza? The work done by ‘Indian Dancers for Gazan Children‘ is truly heartwarming. These artists show that dance is more than just a performance. It’s a way to connect with people, spread kindness, and offer support across borders. Using their talent to raise awareness […]
This is the day that all the people running computer systems (the military defense systems were last to agree),that they would use one Protocol and therefore would be able to communicate with each other and hence the Internet came into being and January the 1st 1983 is its’ official Birthday.
The Internet is therefore a Capricorn ,ruled by Saturn; the planet of time and responsibilities(a bit boring to be honest) born in the Chinese Year of the Pig ,a very decent sort of animal.
It had been Sir Tim Berners-Lee dream to have one system so that scientific data could be shared. That and more was officially achieved on that day.
As a date in history it is truly momentous ; generating a reaction akin to nuclear fusion ,it’s explosive impact in enabling out of this World communication continues its’ path of Worldwide dominance.
The upsides of sharing data and the potential for education and information far outweigh the downsides of misinformation and depravity.
Indeed trollish repetition and censorship have threatened the Internet but the realisation of the benefits of sharing information stands firm as a principle and in truth I believe will defeat tyranny.
I recently visited Chester Zoo and had the honour of photographing five incredible animals up close: lions, tigers, cheetahs, jaguars, and snow leopards. Inspired by these majestic creatures, I decided to delve into the zoo’s conservation efforts for these species. Accompanied by my photos, here’s the lowdown on Chester Zoo’s work to protect and preserve […]
What’s the biggest risk you’d like to take — but haven’t been able to?
Jumping
Not sure what this lady is doing, but I would do it if I could.I love the look of the terrain, but haven’t a clue where it is. I’ve never been in a desert.Perhaps it’s an AI image and it’s impossible.
It’s a risk,of course, she might land awkwardly and hurt her ankle and lose her water bottle and basically it would all end in disaster, because she would die alone of thirst in the desert.
Proud entered into the Celebrity vernacular vocabulary, maybe twenty years ago in the UK
We have Pride of Britain Awards, with glamorous celebrations, free dinners and endless gushing presenters.
That is not to say that those that receive the awards do not deserve them, but even those that receive them look embarrassed by all the fuss.
The look in their eyes, while they stand on stage says
“You would have done the same in my situation”
In truth ,the event is more about the presenters keeping the party going, than actually understanding what makes people do the amazing things they do.
I’m not religious,so I can’t,although I would like to refer to “Pride” as a sin,and before you jump down my throat saying I’m homophobic or transphobic ,actually the “Pride” campaign does work, because with the “Pride” marches, well they are a bit sinful aren’t they? In a good way.
However getting back to religion.Religions are planned human thoughts with goals and objectives much like any military campaign. I acknowledge they do have nuggets of truth in all of them, albeit human nuggets.
One such nugget recognises that pride is on the top of the list of seven deadly sins, and even the word Pride comes from the Greek for hubris.
“The Hubris of Britain Awards”; certainly would attract a number of contenders, why stop there….
“The Hubris of The World Awards”
Definitely lots of candidates for that.
So perhaps being proud or full of pride should be recognised for what it is,a media created emotion.
People do great things and basically they are great, and yes we should say “thank you” for being you and being there and showing the world what is possible.
