Hope

What positive emotion do you feel most often?

I would never push this onto people, there isn’t always hope, but I’m a pretty hopeful person.I will wiggle and wriggle to find hope and it’s worked for me so far. Not to clarify;  in a everything is resolve-able way;just in keeping looking for that little bit of light sort of way.

Gol!

Daily writing prompt
How do you plan your goals?

This is a purely fictitious story and a product of my imagination.

I am the twice removed cousin through marriage of Leo Messi who is the unknown half brother of the iconic Lionel Messi, also known as “Leo” but who rarely talks about the English side of the Messi family. Somewhere in my families murky past we upped sticks from Argentina to London , England and established ourselves in that cold and distinctly non-Latin Country.

However, the football pedigree cannot be doubted, for I am a sixteen year old wonder girl of football. I have clubs all over the UK and Europe wanting to sign me up for a contract.

And what is the reason for my success? I plan Goals

I plan goals for myself, and for my team, we are after all. So when I’m on the field I have considered all the options , I know who the best defenders are , I know the strengths of my team. Indeed I know what the referees blind spots are. I know when the opposition’s goalkeeper is cack-handed and is easily put off by my cannon ball shot at goal.

Knowing your opposition and your team strengths is everything. That is why I am so successful at planning for Goals.

Gol!

Are AI Girlfriends more popular than AI Boyfriends?

There must be some figures somewhere for the signing up for having an AI Friend.

Without the figures I’m going to propose that the likelihood is  that the percentage of requests for AI girlfriends far outnumbers that of AI boyfriends.

Here’s the rub, (and there will be a lot of rubs). AI generated “relationships” are for the emotionally immature. It’s a substitute for the real thing. All be it an amazingly realistic and interactive one.

Sounds like mana or womanana from heaven for the person who doesn’t want real life to interrupt their daily activities and who can switch off their chosen partner at any point they choose.

Sounds like a perfect partner for a Serial murderer or perhaps  AI partners can solve domestic violence  by supplying a non-contact outlet for whatever expression of human aggression or misunderstanding is manifested.

AI could educate the  steps to take to make progress or otherwise  in a relationship or it could be used malevolently to represent barbarity and degradation of a kind only a human being could imagine.

I began this piece because  I saw an advertisement on Tumblr for an AI girlfriend. I’m sure it will take off. What direction is unpredictable. Will it be like Aldous Huxley’s soma?

Riot

What is a word you feel that too many people use?

At the moment in the not so United Kingdom “Riot” is an overly used word.

There are Riots on the Street our Newspapers and Media Outlets  tell us with glee.

Yet life goes on, a few dustbins are thrown across the street and a 12 year old boy is arrested for “insurrection”(ten years ago the papers would have called him A S.B.O boy)

The Riots can spring up anywhere anytime and the Police must be ready with their Riot Shields to protect themselves and their employers property.

It’s a lost cause, because the Peaceful protestors have far outweighed those who were determined to flaunt authority and create disorder for whatever purpose they had in mind.

Stand easy, Authorities .Peaceful Protests are not Riots.

Compassion

What brings you peace?

What brings me Peace is when I see the World behaving with compassion. That is what underlies our progress and survival.

There are arguments and discussions at all levels and at all  times, but without compassion, they are irrelevant and misguided.

I admire Professionalism rather than a Profession.

What profession do you admire most and why?

Nowadays, Professions are a badge of honour.

Increasingly our education system has pandered to providing the qualifications to be a Professional at  a prohibitive cost to many who have the ability and talent.

A few win through and they are the Professionals.Obsessed by their chosen professional passion, they are the ones you want to look after you or your family. They excel.

The vet Noel Fitzgerald comes to mind,he epitomises someone at the top of their profession and who is constantly looking to improve outcomes.

However,by their very nature Professions can be closed shops and professional training can be a tick box exercises or worse still a statistical online algorithm driven pass fail quota.

Perhaps one day we’ll have an NVQ Level 3  in Brain Surgery .

Still a Professional with a passion for whatever field they are in are worth their weight in precious metal

The Bottle Shop

In my dusty old shop I would sell bottles, some empty and some full with the most magical and simple potions known to humanity. There would be a bottle for everyone and the supply would be endless ,so I would always have a bottle for anyone who wanted one.

Payment would be a little conversation and passing the day talking pleasantries and sharing stories of times gone by and hopes for the future.

Pauper’s Grave

I’m not a Pauper, so why do you call it a Pauper’s Grave. I did my bit for society, I played my part, when I was young I worked hard until I realised I was old and couldn’t do what I used to do. By then, I was only 45 years of age, things weren’t good, there had been wars and famine and everything was so expensive. I got sick, they said it was bad luck. When I was young I thought I made my own luck, but now I realise that luck is not what it’s about.

Was it fate I ended up alone in a hole, with earth thrown on top of me just like a discarded piece of rubbish. Did no one care what happened to my bones, that they would rot in a piece of unmarked ground. Not tended and respected like many others gone before and who will go after.

But what is the difference, I ask myself. I was not cared for in life and I am not cared for in death. I know now that it matters not and I am at rest, part of the earth and in the future part of the universe. That no one can change.

My Soul

What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

I carry my soul everywhere I go,sometimes it’s as light as a feather and makes me want to dance to songs and rhythms that in happy times are like the surround sound of life

Other times my soul is a heavy burden full of the weight and worries of a disheartening world where questions are many and solutions few.

Nevertheless the presence of my soul(not I hasten to add in any religious sense) is the part of me that maintains my sanity and hopefulness. My soul can fill up and empty with my mood and circumstances. It’s ever present and always there to strengthen my belief in good outcomes.

Do we all have one? Yes if we want to acknowledge it , the soul is a great leveller of life and how to live it
