Head of MI6

What’s a job you would like to do for just one day?

I would like to be Head of MI6 just for one day and find out just what is going on and stop all the killing and misinformation.

After my one day in charge  ,I certainly  would be listened to.😉

The People whose advice I would listen to;know the value of not writing lists.

List the people you admire and look to for advice…

That pureness of thought, that indelible logic, that freedom to query  and to investigate the world. These are the people I admire, and if they thought it appropriate to proffer me some advice then of course I would listen.

However, those exchanges would be few and far between. Those “thinkers” care about others and understand that excessive advice giving is detrimental and sometimes harmful to the individual.

In our social media dominated world, advice is everywhere and has to be paid for. We are flooded with recommendations and solutions from the right haircut to how to cope with a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

So ,obviously,it’s important to be discerning.

What I need are “good thinkers.”There are many of them, but I’m afraid they don’t appear on any lists because by their nature, they are rebels and do not like to be categorised like a research article in a university library.

I shall raise a glass of iced  sparkling  water (with a slice of lemon) to you, and should you feel it necessary  any time you will definitely have my ears.

Good Thinkers

I voted today

Do you vote in political elections?

Recently, we’ve been away on holiday for local council elections and didn’t get around to organising a postal vote.

Today, we were at home and  made a political  vote for one  local Borough Councillor and one  Police Comissioner. I voted to the best of my ability.

Didn’t make it up to the polling station until 8.20pm and the photo I’d publicity worked as I brought my drivers licence even though the photo, much like a passport photo, looks pretty scary.I was verified and voted in the funny little booths.

I’m pretty certain it was a pencil to mark my X.Which I thought strange.Suppose they use an eraser to rub my vote out?

Any way I voted.

Fiesty Little Robin

We just had a massive thunderstorm right over our heads.Three  very bright flashes of light about ten minutes apart, which lit up the room followed by three extremely  loud end of the World thundering noises which rumbled on  almost immediately after the flash.Scared the dog silly.

Woke me up, so I went downstairs to the kitchen to  finish doing the dishes that I started last night. I pulled back the blinds on the patio. The sky was beginning to brighten up, and it struck me how quiet it was,no birdsong.

“It’ll take the wildlife a little bit of time to recover they must be frightened by such storms.” I thought to myself.

That seemed valid until I saw a fiesty little Robin come to the bird feeder and grab a piece of suet. The first bird to appear after the storm, surely the bravest of them all.

Suppose

It just hit me very hard, the thought of one of my close relatives electing to being euthanized.I believe the law might be changed in Scotland. I find this very scary.

We are made in our lunatic society to feel useless, the old and frail are  despised,  and those who can not look after themselves are made to feel they are a liability. They are at the mercy of these law makers.

My relatives may be at their mercy, and I can see how that step into oblivion might be taken by choice. I hope not ,but it would be a possibility. Would they be pushed or shoved, would we ever know. So much is covered up.

I find it a physically sickening thought.I don’t feel the current set of lawmakers would put the necessary checks and balances in place.

Therefore,I hope, some might say selfishly, that this law will  not be  passed and that Scotland does  not  become the new Switzerland.

“Do not be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is perennial as the grass” The Desdereta

Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?

Max Ehrman’s Desdereta has always inspired me. The above quote in the title has always resonated with me.
